The hot sun beating down and the loving embrace of the warm tropical breeze.  The palm trees, oh how I love palm trees, and fresh coconuts and exotic fruit, oh, and don’t forget the smiles. There’s no rush as it’s as if there’s no concept of time.  Be here now.. enjoy the beauty of the small, magical moments.  Take in the lush green fauna, the bright flowers and the blue sky. Listen to the waves and the laughter as you float effortlessly in the turquoise salty ocean. No need to make appointments to meet up with friends, there’s just a flow as new ones c...

Water has always played a huge role in my life when seeking peace and comfort.  When I was little I wished I could live underwater.  The feeling of being weightless and the quiet being submerged was the ultimate.  I felt formless and hidden from the outside world, while still feeling the inter-connected energy flow between all living things. Through motion, fluidity, renewal and transformation, this element always takes the path of least resistance… always finding a way.

Goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity.  She holds the promise of material fulfillment, spiritual knowledge and wisdom.  She is the embodiment of strength, material wealth, physical health, beauty and grace.  Her abundant feminine energy radiates peace, happiness, inner harmony, kindness and truth.

Two years ago while sketching on a beach in Thailand I had the idea to start a Goddess series with a large Laskshmi painting drenched in Swarovski crystals.  I first painted Lakshmi a year ago but couldn’t completely finish her as I felt the timin...

 "ALIVE" - Acrylic on canvas 30" x 30" - SOLD

Floating in the Andaman Sea at sunset is beyond bliss.  I feel ecstatic and filled with overwhelming joy.  I float effortlessly, like being in a natural float tank, only my senses are heightened.  The tepid water is not very refreshing, but still offers a soothing embrace. The salt feels cleansing for the body and soul.  The warmth of my sun kissed skin; the sound and movement of the waves as I let go and connect with the ebb and flow.  The laughter and smiles of others enjoying this same moment of freedom, a...

Over 300 years ago, the burmese army planned an attack to invade Thailand which was then known as Siam.  The Siamese monks were in possession of the most amazing Buddha statue made of solid gold. The monks were determined to protect the shrine that meant so much to them as they knew that the Burmese would stop at nothing to steal the statue.  They covered the Golden Buddha with 12 inches of clay knowing that the warriors would ignore it and think it worthless.  Sadly, the monks were slaughtered in the invasion and the secret of the Golden Buddha stayed...

This is my happy place.  I am so in love with South East Asia... Give me a tropical beach and I'm home. I haven't done any art in a few months as I have been travelling.  It was grounding and fuel for the soul to sit at sunset in front of the Andaman Sea and just sketch.  I made a little Lakshmi and I'm now inspired to paint some large Goddess pieces when I return to Canada.

I awaken to the sun kissing my face. Inspired by this new day and as part of my morning ritual I open the sliding glass door and take in the view. A rush of hot air envelopes me and I smile as my gaze shifts to the horizon. Big Buddha sits peacefully on the mountain watching over Phuket. A wave of gratitude washes over me as I seize the moment. I make an instant coffee to which I have become accustomed to; as long gone are the days of sipping on a Tall 3/4 full Americano...no biggie..I'm in Thailand!

I head out to start my day as I make my way down from...
